Whimsical Circus....

Funny how something so simple can turn into something so cool, huh? It all started with the paper easter basket my Mother showed me how to make (photo below on another post). I had an idea about what I wanted to do but didn't really know what I'd finish with. Here it is!! I think it's really cool!!
I cut the circus animals from GCD Studios paper "Under the Big Top Fun House Collection". I got the ticket image from the internet and altered it for this project. And my mother showed me how to make the container!

Paper Baskets...

Okay, my Mother taught me how to make this pink and green paper easter basket yesterday. She sent me home and said she wanted to see what I come up with on my own. Well Mom, here's my first attempts. They're not finished yet but I have some ideas brewing. I thought I would try using some of the Canvas Corp Kraft Papers. I want to make a pocket and add flowers and other items to it. The black and white papers I thought I would make something more fun. Tell me what you think so far.
Here's what I have come up with so far. I'm not finished yet, just started on it. I will post pictures of my finished baskets later.
Here I used one of my hand dyed buttons.  It matched the tinsel perfectly I thought,
I stitched the bottom closed and used 20 strips of paper instead of
the 28 strips we used in making the other baskets. The kraft paper
was stiffer than the other patterned papers so it was a little more
difficult to assemble, but it is really strong.
I think I'll add a ribbon handle to it for hanging.
Remember the flower you also showed me that you made? I made
several of them too. I have added one to the front of this pocket.

Sweet New Bunny Cards...

You can find these cards for sale in my Etsy shop, "The Shabby Goose".

This is a set of four bunny cards in a card holder all made to coordinate. The holder is tied up with a red and cream ribbon. The cards measure 4" x 5 1/2".

All the cards are made to coordinate with each other. I have added embellishments such as lace, flowers, rhinestone or pearl brads, seam binding ribbons, crocheted flowers and all are distressed with walnut ink. The bunny image is stamped in the center of a doily punched from white cardstock and then distressed. All cards are blank inside and made of vanilla colored cardstock. Great for any occasion from Easter, spring, birthday, baby or just because...love this look.
